But Mr Clegg said that although he thought tuition fees were “pernicious”, scrapping them may not be affordable in the current climate – though he stressed that the overall education budget would not be cut under the Lib Dems.
And he described proposals by the Schools Secretary, Ed Balls, to cut senior staff jobs in schools to save up to £2bn as “extraordinary”.
He said it would be “absolute madness to blight the life chances of the young”.
Mr Clegg also confirmed that his party wanted to cut the number of MPs from nearly 646 to 500, and to close what he called huge tax loopholes so as to stop ordinary taxpayers “subsidising the wealthy”.
The Lib Dem leader has been setting out plans to “cut the cost of politics” by nearly £2bn, including closing 10 government departments and 90 quangos, axing spin doctors and no longer paying the Opposition leader’s wages out of the public purse.
The savings would be enough to renovate 200 schools a year, he said.

What’s the life going to be like here?I am trying to improve my English level these days.To be precise,i have been keeping on that for more than one week..there seems to be no improvement.I can’t remember vocabularies clearly and preciselyAm i getting older and older and my memory is getting worse and worse? It is next to unthinkable..
Life here has been out of color.Tons of work to do tons of time to waste..Thinking it over,i think the most difficult problem is the words reciting. So how can i remember words precisely ?I remember that i checked one words out in dictionary nearly more than ten times..It looks like silly action when i have passed the CET-6 although with low score.
The weather here is very cold although it has been in spring and it is even colder in my office. It is in some sence like a hell..a freezing cold hell…..I prefer to stay here anyway or i will fall into another chilly hellwhere there’s no communication and information and learning passion…It is the GEE’s gift for me to stay with my cactus and talking to english lovers while working.
I am going to leave this hell in the near holiday..Looking forward to the Tomb-sweeping Day.BTW,i wanna recommend and write down several websites here for english learners.englishpod, yappr and englishbaby..time to left ..night

Two things definitely hold magic powers over you: First, the battery, especially the battery out of the case; Second, the door, the door waiting quietly there for you to open, to explore. These two things enchant you, take your breath away and send you a bone-melting surge of excitement whenever you lay your eyes on.
But you certainly don’t like the batteries when they are lying in the place where they should be. Whenever you discover a remote controller, you tried everything you could to get those batteries out of the case. When you failed, you would give the controller to me and babbled an order: En, en… I ignored you. God knows how I tried of locating all the batteries and sending them back to place afterwards. You stamped your foot impatiently and threatened to cry. I kept ignoring. But you still had one trump card to play. You smiled, revealing even, white teeth and a slight cleft in your chin, then you pleaded in your angelic voice: Mama, mama.. I was screwed, so screwed. The part of my brain that made intelligent decisions melt like chocolate taffy left by the pool on a hot summer day. Immediately I fell for your charm and answered your call diligently though afterwards I probably would curse my own stupidity especially when I was in another round of frantic search for those damn batteries. Dear, you may not know how to get things out of the case, but you certainly know how to manipulate your poor mum and get the wits out of her mind!

Continue yesterday…
I wake up everyday. The first thing I did is run to the washroom having a bad cough and bound to cough out some sputum from my throat immediately , otherwise, I will out of breathe and can not say any sentences . at one times, I coughed myself hoarse as well as my bosom was stuffy pain and then out of breathe about a few munities. Thus. I picked up my telephone as soon as possible, but then I mere could speak few words off and on whether my friends got It or not. In addition, my cough was constant in whole day, wherever I went. The important is I do not perceive my coughing fit, but other people point out this instead of my self. now, this habit already become subconscious in nature . on the other hand, my bad smell of smoke sent out wherever I went. who are familiar with me will speechless , on the contrary will keep at a distant against me , this smell will be embarrassed by me , such as, some people come to my office. There is have nothing to do with man, if a lady who is stranger will fed up with me at heart. They will think that I am dirty who is addicted to smoking so that put down my face finally.

Want to do business in China without springing for a plane ticket to Shanghai? Alibaba.com is your best bet. Founded by Jack Ma in 1999, this massively successful business-to-business e-marketplace is the best place online to meet people and trade proposals and product offers. (Ma has been quoted as saying that the firm got its bizarre start when he was kidnapped in Malibu and released on the condition he help his captor start a business in China.) In 2005, Yahoo (see #19) made a multibillion-dollar investment in Alibaba, which now runs Yahoo China. The venture recently became mired in scandal, when it provided information that led to the imprisonment of a Chinese journalist accused of leaking state secrets.

It seemed that nothing serious happened to me, then, why did I feel so lousy, grumpy, lonely and utterly exhausted?
Tomorrow morning, my roommates and I will have a trip to the Double Dragon Cave, so I know that I can’t in the low spirit, or I’ll turn them off, then everyone will feel afflictive, and the fault will be on my part.
So, cheer up, Christina!Tomorrow is another day

Status of the Polar BearU.S. Geological Survey Report on Polar Bears and Climate Change
The finding is part of a yearlong review of the effects of climate and ice changes on polar bears to help determine whether they should be protected under the Endangered Species Act. Scientists estimate the current polar bear population at 22,000.
The report, which the United States Geological Survey released here, offers stark prospects for polar bears as the world grows warmer.
The scientists concluded that, while the bears were not likely to be driven to extinction, they would be largely relegated to the Arctic archipelago of Canada and spots off the northern Greenland coast, where summer sea ice tends to persist even in warm summers like this one, a shrinking that could be enough to reduce the bear population by two-thirds.
The bears would disappear entirely from Alaska, the study said.
“As the sea ice goes, so goes the polar bear,” said Steven Amstrup, lead biologist for the survey team.
The report was released as President Bush was in Australia meeting with Asian leaders to try to agree on a strategy to address global warming. Mr. Bush will be host to major industrial nations in Washington this month to discuss the work for a treaty on climate change.

After forty days Noah opened the trap-door that he had made in the ark , and released a raven to see whether the water had subsided, but the bird continued flying to and fro until the water on the earth had dried up. Noah waited for seven days, and then he released a dove from the ark to see whether the water on the earth had subsided fruther. But the dove found no place where she could settle, and so she came back to him in the ark, because there was water over the whole surface of the earth. He waited another seven days and again released the dove from the ark. She came back to him towards evening with a newly plucked olive leaf in her beak. Then Noah knew for certain that the water on the earth had subsided still further. He waited yet another seven days and released the dove, but she never came back. And so it came about that, on the first day of the first month of his six hundred and first year, the water had dried up on the earth, and Noah removed the hatch and looked out of the ark. The surface of the ground was dry.
