World Golf Tour, a company that creates simulated golf games for the web that allow players to play on some of the world’s most famous golf courses, and PGA.com have teamed up to raise money for the following charities: Teach For America, Sheltering Arms and After-School All-Stars. A Beta version of the new World Golf Tour game will be featured on PGA.com as part of their Charity Challenge. Sponsors including Golfnow.com, TaylorMade-adidas Golf, and Mandalay Golf will be donating daily prizes to those competing.
Prizes include Polo Shirts, golf clubs, trips to Las Vegas and Hawaii, and the chance to play at some of the best courses in the US. “Everyone at World Golf Tour feels privileged to connect such generous sponsors with top educational charities through this tournament. We’re excited to give people an early taste of the World Golf Tour golf experience. Our aim is to make golf accessible and rewarding for all, and with this Beta event, we are running an online charitable golf tournament on a scale never seen before,” said YuChiang Cheng, CEO of World Golf Tour.
