Plymouth Argyle Football Club is giving fans the chance to support the Royal British Legion (RBL) through a t-shirt sale, it has emerged.
Appearing at Leicester City on November 11th – Armistice Day – sporting black away shirts embroidered with a poppy motif, the players will offer their one-off away shirts for auction, reports the Herald.
Some 19 of the limited-edition t-shirts were made as a mark of respect to war veterans.
And six of them will now be sold through the club’s website until December 1st in support of the legion.
Meanwhile, Manchester City Football Club (MCFC) joined forces with the RBL in Greater Manchester in support of the Poppy Appeal this year.
The players appeared in an away game with Newcastle United on November 11th with the poppy emblem embroidered on their shirts, while Oldham Athletic Football Club also supported the RBL.
Martin Watkins, RBL county field officer for Greater Manchester, said: “We are delighted that Manchester City and Oldham Athletic are supporting the legion’s Poppy Appeal.”
MCFC will also auction t-shirts using eBay in support of the legion.
